PGP160 Miniature Pressure Sensor

The PGP160 series is designed for high accuracy absolute or gage pressure measurements, from -1 up to 600bar. The sensing element is an advanced piezo-resistive pressure module which together with the latest compensation techniques, provides high performance measurements. It is available with low (millivolt) or high level outputs (0, 5-4, 5Vdc ou 0-5Vdc). For transducers, the built-in electronic delivers a dynamic analogue output, signal’s bandwidth being specified at a minimum of 1kHz @-3dB. With all stainless steel wetted parts, the sensor is compatible with most media used in industry, even corrosive ones. High accuracy embedded pressure measurements are main focus for the PGP160 series.

The EFE Engineering Department is responsible for designing all our sensors, from sensing elements to state of the art PCBs. To meet the customer’s high requirements, EFE decided very early on to develop its propriety sensing technology for pressure transducers. This technology, thin film, is manufactured mainly using a physical vapour deposit, and more precisely sputtering process on a metal diaphragm (stainless steel, titanium, inconel, hastelloy, etc.). This film is used by EFE is the only technology which does not require any intermediary between the sensing element and the fluid to be measured as with an oil separator for silicon based sensors or O-rings for ceramic technology.
